The latter half of 2024 has been a significant period for the Primary team as we continue strengthening our commitment to sustainability. With a dedicated focus, we are actively working towards achieving our ISO 20121 accreditation in Event Sustainability – an important milestone on our journey to net zero.
As part of this ongoing initiative, our team has been investing in training and expanding our expertise to enhance our understanding and capabilities in sustainable practices. These efforts lay the foundation for embedding sustainability into every aspect of what we do, to support driving meaningful change within our industry.
Our Commitments and Roadmap
We are proud to be a signatory of the Net Zero Carbon Events (NZCE) Pledge, an initiative launched in 2022 to align the global events industry with the Paris Agreement. This pledge provides a clear roadmap for achieving a 50% reduction in carbon emissions by 2030 and reaching net zero by 2050.
In line with this, Primary has established ambitious targets:
- 68% reduction in carbon emissions by 2030, aligning with the UK’s Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs).
- Regularly reviewing and updating these targets to ensure continued progress and accountability.
- Embedding sustainable practices into all areas of our operations, with a commitment to improving and advancing our goals as our expertise grows.
